Eric D'Olive, Associate Attorney

Mr. D’Olive practices a wide variety of commercial transactions and litigation, with a focus on commercial and residential real estate matters and commercial collections. In addition to transactional law and litigation, Mr. D’Olive also facilitates mergers, acquisitions, share purchases, and related corporate matters for clients large and small.

While a student at South Texas College of Law, Mr. D’Olive completed the prestigious Transactional Law Certificate program to better create and negotiate contracts and resolve contractual disputes and served as an Articles Editor for Currents: International Trade Law Journal to better understand the complex issues of international commerce and resources available to resolve international disputes.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Mr. D’Olive implemented United States foreign policy in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division and later as an Army Recruiter. When not fighting for his clients, Mr. D’Olive spends his time fighting the sport fish of the southeast Texas coastline.

Representative Litigation:

  • Represented professional services provider in collecting an open account in Harris County District Court; recovered 65% of two-year delinquent account for client
  • Represented restaurant for City of Houston building code violations in City of Houston Municipal Court; obtained dismissal of half of the citations issued and minimum penalties for the remainder
  • Represented commercial sub-tenant in Harris County District Court where landlord threatened to remove sub-tenant for tenant’s alleged breach; obtained temporary restraining order to prevent forcible removal of sub-tenant and settlement allowing sub-tenant to peacefully remove its equipment
  • Represented foreclosed landowners in eviction suit to prevent forcible removal in Justice of the Peace Court; negotiated settlement allowing former landowners to peacefully move out

Representative Transactions:

  • Landlord representation in drafting and negotiating leases for commercial and residential tenancies 
  • Tenant representation in negotiating leases to better suit commercial and industrial needs of tenants
  • Shareholders, corporations, limited liability companies, joint ventures, and partnerships in member-management transactions, share purchases, asset purchases, formation, and winding-up
  • Family members involved in inter-generational transfers for family-owned companies, partnerships, and other entities
